Music City Youth in the Arts, the parent organization for the corps, was started in July 2008 by music educators and drum corps fans interested in starting a drum and bugle corps in the Nashville area. When several hundred others expressed interest in the idea, the board of directors decided to field a corps for the Open Class 2009 season.

ABOUT THE CORPS
Music City began in 2008 when a group of music educators and enthusiasts came together with a goal of bringing a new Drum Corps International group to Nashville. Forty-seven members strong in 2009, the corps grew tremendously while forging a tradition of fielding audience-friendly productions. After many years of hard work and dedication, Music City earned a spot as a World Class corps for the 2018 season.
