Newburgh native and Castle High School graduate Thomas Weber will be performing his second season with Phantom Regiment. During high school, Thomas qualified for state finals individually along with winning several BOA regionals and performed in BOA Grand Nationals with the Marching Knights. It was through his marching band experience that he found his love for performance and travel – along with meeting many life-long friends.

Thomas is a natural born adventurer. In his childhood, he would constantly be excited to go to new places and achieve great accomplishments, earning the Eagle Scout award and graduating with academic honors. He is currently studying Mechanical Engineering at USI and will be beginning his Junior year in the fall. His dream job is to become an astronaut and explore the universe, something he is working towards through his engineering degree.

His hobbies include performing with the USI Jazz Ensemble, where he is the lead trombone. Along with this, he serves as the president of the USI Venturing Crew, an organization that promotes leadership, outdoorsmanship, and public service. “This love of performance, traveling, and the outdoors all translate well to Drum Corps,” said Thomas.

“DRUMS on the OHIO is incredible and helps to cultivate the love for the marching arts around this musically rich area. This is my favorite DCI show, and without it I might have never joined drum corps in the first place.”

Thomas is very excited to be a part of Phantom Regiment this season and has really grown since joining them last year. Thomas said, “I learned many lessons of self-reliance, confidence, resilience, and persistence, along with performing a beautiful show with some incredible people. I hope to experience all of those again this season, this time with the many friends I now consider family.”

Judging from this year’s enthusiasm and music selection, Thomas believes this season will be something truly special. Phantom Regiment will be touring this summer performing their 2019 production, “I Am Joan.” We can’t wait to see what Phantom has in store for us at DRUMS on the OHIO. We wish Thomas and Phantom all the best this season.
