Performing with Music City this year is Rachel Kercher. Rachel is a recent graduate of Reitz High School and is from the West Side of Evansville. She has been a part of the Reitz marching band for the last four years and she is very excited to join Drum Corps. This summer will be her first year joining Music City and first year competing in DCI.
Rachel loves to perform and always encourages others to do their best. Along with being a member of the Reitz color guard, Rachel was also a member of the EVSC Honors Guard during winter guard season. Last fall, she was the guard captain and the show’s main soloist. She hopes to take the experiences and skills that she has gotten from marching band and the winter guard and continue to develop them with Music City. “Drum corp has always been something I have thought about doing, ever since my freshman year of color guard when my instructors told me many times to do it,” said Rachel. In addition to her full color guard schedule, she also enjoys drawing, swimming, and dancing.
“What I hope to gain from my corp experience this summer is lots of new skills, new friends, new experiences, and the chance to travel and perform in many venues. I know it will be hard work, but I’m ready for it!”
The opportunities and new experiences she anticipates will be life changing. She has never done anything like this at all, and is super excited for it! She cannot wait to make a whole new family with people from all over the world. Rachel loves making new friends, and looks forward to enjoying this season with Music City.
Music City joined the World Class division last year. The corps experienced an outstanding first year as a World Class Corps. They are looking to continue the success that they experienced last year with their 2019 production, “Of Mice and Music.” We can’t wait to see Music City at DRUMS on the OHIO on June 24 and to see Rachel perform with the corps. We want to wish Rachel and Music City the best of luck this year!
