Performing Corps: Troopers
Performing at DRUMS on the OHIO this year is Newburgh native Morgan Dean. This recent Castle High School graduate will be with Troopers Drum & Bugle Corps this season, playing vibe in the front ensemble, as they come to town on Wednesday, June 29.
Having a connection with DRUMS on the OHIO, Morgan Dean’s father, Tom Dean, marched in the Evansville-based drum corps, The Imperial Guard, in 1981 and 1982. She says, “ I would be honored to perform at the same venue that he marched when he was my age.” Morgan was offered her spot with The Troopers after sending in a video of her Group I marimba solo performance from this past year. The Troopers were so impressed with her talent, that they offered her a spot immediately.
Morgan has a special place in her heart for drum corps as she said, “Being in a drum corps means that I get to share my love and passion for music with 150 of some of the most talented people I will ever meet in my life. I have the opportunity to create incredible music and deep relationships with people from all different backgrounds, and that fills me with absolute excitement.”
We are very excited for Morgan as she gets to follow in her father’s footsteps and perform at DRUMS on the OHIO this summer. Have a great inaugural tour, Morgan.
