Founded in 1957 by Casper businessman Jim Jones, the Troopers are the only drum and bugle corps based in the state of Wyoming. The corps was well distinguished for its groundbreaking visual programs and nearly impeccable marching in the 1960s and 1970s, and has been a DCI World Championship Finalist nine times. With a nod to the Union Army’s 11th Ohio Cavalry during the Civil War, the Troopers often emphasize patriotic themes in their productions, earning them the nickname “America’s Corps.”
